Show #110 - 2nd/3rd Of October

Hello Weekenders,

time for more hot house music, we gonna start this weekend with the Rudenko Project from Russia and their sundrenched song “Destination“. It’s autumn here in Germany now and if it is cold and wet for you at home too - close you eyes while listening, this song will bring back the summer…

Talking about cold and wet - it can be pretty nasty in San Francisco even during summertime! But the city is one of the most beautiful one I know. Marco Lys from Italy made an epic remix of a song by Mooli (the brainchild of Electronica Producer- and main songwriter Ben Copland) called “San Francisco Rain“. Excellent songwriting and vocals from heaven… LOVE it!

Originally performed by duo McFadden & Whitehead, the disco classic “Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now” was released in 1979 and has often been embraced as a sports anthem. JR Disco’s remake of this classic was part of the show 10 weeks ago, this time we will listen to Taborah’s and Darryl D’Bonneau’s take, our retro track this weekend.

You probably know that I am a huge fan of Disco House and I have a brand new one for you which is my favourite this weekend: Joey Chicago, a young producer from Germany, created an irresistible piece of Disco House for you called “Add Some Spice“. 100% pure good time dance music, excellent!

Enjoy the weekend!

Weekend Warm Up Show 28th/29th Of August

Hi Weekenders,

let’s kick off the weekend with the hottest new releases available like the latest Sunfreakz remix, we had to wait much too long to listen to a new remix made by Belgium’s finest… He reworked Flo Rida’s new release ‘Jump‘ ft. the lovely Nelly Furtado on vocals. The result is - as always - perfect!

Track of the week has been delievered by the Dancing DJs, known for their 2005 hit ‘Fading Like A Flower‘, a Roxette remake. Their latest single ‘Wanna Be Like A Man‘ (originally released in 1997 by Simone Jay) got an awesome funky piano driven remix by Mr. eSquire. Love it!

Bananarama hit the chart with ‘Cruel Summer‘ in 1983, the same song became a success again for Sweden’s Ace Of Base in 1998. Rico Bernasconi, who launched hugely successful projects like Master Blaster and Vinylshakerz into the dance world under the pseudonym Rico Bass, had always been a fan of both groups and wasted no time in creating a new version of the song with the original Ace Of Base vocals. The retro track this weekend!

And there is so much more: the new Cascada single (remix by Cahill!), two brilliant Kaskade remixes, a funky disco house track by Jason & Herd, the Hoxton Whores are back… What a great start into the new weekend! Enjoy!

Weekend Warm Up 21st/22nd Of August

Hi again,

after some beautiful days at Ibiza I’m back with a lot of sun in my heart and some new music in my bag. I had a blast last friday night at the Fierce Angels party @ El Divino! A brilliant live performance by Angie Brown, Reza and Whelan & Di Scala did I great job in the DJ booth… Highly recommended if you will go to Ibiza this summer!

On air this weekend are summer tracks like Leggz Ft. Stephanie, we heard the original mix of “La La La” already 5 weeks ago, this time I choosed the Jolyon Petch remix. Set for release on the 14th September on Discopolis Records.

Leventina aka Chris Reece from the italian part of Switzerland made a very emotional track called “Here Workin’” which includes the wonderful vocals from US house legend Byron Stingily. I am loving the Dinka remix - this is progressive vocal house at it’s best - my favourite this weekend!

According to her label, the date for Whitney Houston’s comeback album “I Look To You” after 7 years of absence has been set for August 31, 2009. Her 1987 No.1 single “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” has been reworked by Italys Andrea T Mendoza and is my retro track this weekend.

Showtime 3rd/4th Of April

 Hey Weekenders,

13 will gonna be a lucky number for us this weekend - thirteen new absolute fabulous uplifting funky tracks for you in the mix, all killers no fillers… as always! ;-)
We’ll start with a song I got from Florida/Virgin Islands based Beatnik Castle calling themselfs a “psychedelic-trippy-hippie high-energy pop-dance outfit”. Wow… Their members, lead singer Francillia and producer, arranger and songwriter Quincy B. Scoville created a good time vocal house track (released on Tampa-based independent label Mad Monk, LTD.) called ‘Will U B Mine?’ with the help of Lenny B. who has done once more a fantastic job on the remix! 10/10!
This is what the digital dance music store xpressbeats.com writes about my favourite this weekend, Shena’s ‘Can’t Stop The Rain’:
“There’s a new sound in town that the coolest cats are getting down to. This is not DISCO, not just any kind of disco, but Nu-Disco. This is a groovaliciously delicious chunka disco dancing delight.
Shèna’s Can’t Stop the Rain is heralding the return of the 70’s disco sound pioneered by Chic, Rose Royce and Earth Wind & Fire, cut delectably with a razor sharp production for 2009.”
Not much left to say for me - on remix duty: Colin Sales, H&H and David Bernadi, the old school sound of the 7th Heaven remix is the one I am feeling the most!
Our retro track is a re-made of the popular dancefloor killer ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’ from the legendary Jermaine Stewart who passed away much too soon! Guaranteed to to warm up your weekend with a smile! Miami StarFish is Billy Mead, Boston based producer & label manager & founding member of chart topper Avalon Superstar.
Last but least I am happy to present the latest release of my favourite danish duo Morjac. They already teamed up with with hot french producer Fred Falke under their name The Montanas for the smash hit ‘Muisc Talking’, now they are back together with the young and very talented singer from the U.K. Sarah Tyler to deliever another floorfiller, the infectious ‘When We’re Together’.
Happy party weekend for everyone!
