Weekend Warm Up 1st Anniversary 15th/16th Of August

Hello friends,

it is now exactly 1 year ago when I delievered the first show to 2 internet stations (and energy fm is still on board, thanks Lloyd!). By the way: first track I played was the Bimbo Jones remix of Fried’s “I’ll Be There”…

Unbelievable that the show is now on air on 13 stations (will become 14 soon!) worldwide with a constantly growing amount of listeners and with such a great support by record companies, artists, producers… It is very time consuming working on the show but also so much fun that I will promise to be on air for another year!
So let’s celebrate this birthday - and we’ll have a great guestlist for the party!
The show starts with a remake of Cheryl Lynn’s first and biggest hit, “Got To Be Real” which was penned by David Paich (ex Toto) and Lynn. The song peaked at #12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 on the R&B chart. The Electric Allstars with Shena on vocals did a great job with this rework of the disco classic. It’s time to get your retro!
Cahill will perform twice, first with their remix of Taio Cruz’She’s Like A Star” and second with their remix of the huge 2008 Ibiza anthem “Paddy’s Revenge” by Steve Mac.
No party without Moto Blanco - these guys are doing magic on the commercial dancefloors! Enjoy their remix of Michelle Williams’ “We Break The Dawn“.
I am happy to say hello to a guest from France: Laurent Wolf with his latest release “Wash My World“, a perfect ‘Hands Up In The Air’ - party anthem.
Germanys Sash! are back on the dancefloors, this time with a Fonzerelli house remix of their 90’s hit single “Encore Une Fois” (what means “One More Time” in english as far as I know…).
Last but not least we will have a birthday gift on air from our special friends the Bassmonkeys:
80’s US soul singer Eugene Wilde returns with a suberb brand new track on House label Global Harmony which has been remixed by the Bassmonkeys. A full DJ promo campaign begins in September with release soon after, but we will have this track exclusive on air for the anniversary show! WOOOO HOOOO! :-) Thanks Dale, Danny and Mike for your support! Of course my favourite this week!

Showtime 8th/9th Of August

Hi again,
life is so great… It’s summertime, long days, warm nights, beautiful people, cool drinks and great new music - I could not ask for more! Think I do not need to write about the new Freemasons/Kylie release (looove it!), let’s talk about some other new songs:
The german dance project Fragma released “Toca’s Miracle” in 2000 as a mash-up, taking the music of their 1999 release “Toca Me” and placing the vocals from Coco’s song “I Need A Miracle” over the top. The track went straight to No.1 in the U.K. and was also very popular in Australia and Ireland. This year they released a few new remixes as “Toca’s Miracle 2008″, some of them coming from Italy. The Samuele Sartini mix is perfect, love his work!
A few days ago I was listening to the latest Fierce Angels release “Beach Angels III” and immediately fall in love with a track on CD 3 - The Bassmonkeys have collaborated with Etherfox to create “Another Valentine”. As part of Etherfox, Antigone delievered the wonderful vocals on this little beauty… I was not sure if this song fits into the Weekend Warm Up Show. Works for me, what do you think? My favourite this week!
First featured on the “Defected In the House Eivissa 08″ comp, Bingo Players collaborate with Chocolate Puma - both from the Netherlands - to drop “Touch Me” on the original New York house giant Strictly Rhythm. Already reached No.1 on the Beatport download charts, the Vintage Mix works perfectly for me!
And do not miss ATFC’s and Ghostcopy’s “Don’t Look Back” - to be found on “The Mix Summer 2008″ compilation, this is a typical Hed Kandi track - uplifting, infectious, simply great!
The Tracklist:
1. Georgie Porgie - Can You Feel That Sound (Josh Harris Club Mix)
2. Connected Feat. Max’c - A Feeling (Wideboys Miami Mix)
3. Kylie Minogue - The One (Freemasons Club Mix)
4. Liquid Nation Feat. Andrea Britton - Breathe Life (Fish ‘N’ Chips Mix)
5. Fragma - Toca’s Miracle (Samuele Sartini Extended Mix)
DJ’s Favourite This Week
6. Bassmonkeys & Etherfox - Another Valentine (Original Mix)
7. The Camel Rider & Mark Alston Ft. Mark Shine - Addicted (Wasted Youth Mix)
8. Bingo Players Vs. Chocolate Puma - Touch Me (Vintage Mix)
9. Thomas Gold Ft. Amanda Wilson - Somethings Gotta Give (Wawa Mix)
10. ATFC Feat. Ghostcopy - Don’t Look Back (Original Mix)
The Retro Track
11. Agent Stereo - Fastline
Enjoy the show and have a perfect weekend!

Hello again,
a couple of excellent female vocals in one show - Shena, Katherine Ellis, Amanda Wilson, Rochelle Fleming, Alison Wade… Brand new tracks from artists and DJ’s like Yves Larock, Seamus Haji, Bimbo Jones, Wawa… and also a great newcomer - what a lineup for this coming weekend!
My favourite has been written & produced by Focus Audio - a young producer from the UK - this is his first track release and it’s set to take the radios & clubs by storm. On vocals: Sherelle McKenzie - brilliant job!
Do not miss the latest release of the swiss DJ/producer Yves Larock - “By Your Side” is a perfect track for this summer - which is extemly hot here in Germany at time…
Talking about extremly hot: do not miss “Keep This Fire Burning” by The Outsiders. This track has an interesting history… originally penned by Robyn and going on to become a UK top 20 hit for soul diva Beverley Knight (an early Estelle featured track too!) in 2005. 2008 the brilliant Wawa delievered the perfect peaktime house remix for this summers’ floors with the vocals by Amanda Wilson - do I need to say more? WUPS 25th/26th Of July

Hello Party People,

got some great feedbacks for the show last weekend - hope that you will enjoy this one too… We will have news from Moto Blanco, Alphabeat/Wawa, Eric Kupper/Taxi Doll and even a Dolly Parton remix, so it looks like I am all set to satisfy my spoiled listeners. :-)
This time we will enjoy 2 retro remixes in one show, we’ll start with the 7th Heaven remix of ‘December 1963′ (Oh What A Night) by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, a huge hit from 1975.
5 years later Dolly Parton released her classic track ‘9 to 5′ which reached No. 11 in the U.S. 200 charts  and No.1 in the country charts. Love To Infinity made a great remix, this is what Andy Lee, one member of LTI, had to say about it:
“All I can say is WHAT A VOICE …..the accapella sounds amazing!! She has such an amazing tone!! Little known fact the vocal on this record is ONE TAKE off Dolly with a small repair on verse 2 thats it…one take , she is amazing!!!”
To support the recent release of their greatest hits long player ‘Raise Your Hands’, X-Press 2 re-release the 2002 club classic ‘Lazy’ with brand new remixes. Among others, Moto Blanco delievered a perfect remix for the commercial dancefloor.
My favourite this week is another italian production coming from the Houndogz (also known as the Hound Dogs). They released their debut single ‘I Like Girls’ in the UK at the tail end of 2005.. ‘Internet Love’ contains a sample of ‘Is It Love You’re After’ by Rose Royce and is co-written and produced by Stefano Silvestri, member of Phunk Investigations
And finally: the “2 from 1″ mashup is back this week with two 2008 remixes of Ultra Nate’s ‘Automatic’, both of them 2 good not to have them in the show. We start with the work of the men of the hour, Tikaro, J Louis & Ferran from Spain and end up with the Riff ‘N’ Rays remix.
Have a good listen, enjoy the show and don’t forget: I am always happy about some feedback… ;-)

Weekend Warm Up 18th/19th Of July

Hello friends,

what a wonderful week, so many excellent new tracks in one show - the start into this weekend will become perfect!
So hard to pic a favourite this time, I had to choose between a brand new release of the Buzz Junkies, they reworked Alison Limerick’s “Where Love Lives”, Stonebridge’s version of Ne-Yo’s smash “Closer”, a perfect remix by Cahill of Chris Brown’s “Forever“, the Teamsters (aka Morjac from Denmark) are back after their huge hit “Feels Like Love” now with a Seamus Haji remix of “Shake It Off“, a great remake of Tracy Chapman’sFast Car” by After 6
Do you remember the unique voice of Monica Bragato alias Moony and her huge hits “Point Of View” and “Dove”? We had to wait long for new releases but now she is finally back with “I Don’t Know Why”! One word: Massive…
Usually we do not have boybands in the show. O.K., we had Westlife once, but the Wideboys mix was so good… And now there is another track of a new boyband called Avenue that you should check out, the remix of “Last Goodbye” is coming from Digital Dog and I really like what they did!
But which one is my favourite? Finally I decided to pick another production from Italy, Maurizio Tognarelli and Marco Bertani are having the power to rock this show… “I Get Power” is a perfect party track with an old school feeling, love the vocals!
Enough writing, time to party! :-)

Showtime 11th/12th Of July

Hello again,

why do more people listen to the Weekend Warm Up Show? That’s an easy one - because party people on the Canary Islands will listen on UK Away FM this coming weekend… Welcome! :-)
And they should listen, not only because we will have Samuele Sartini’s wonderful new track ‘Let’s Get Back The Feeling’ again (LOOOOOVE this song!) but also because of a couple of great new songs:
Lenny B. (’B’ stays for Bertoldo), born and raised in Boston Massachusetts, released a new feel good vocal disco house track with an infectious hook called ‘Radical’.  A sure summer hit, my favourite this weekend.
Regular “WUPS” listeners already listened to Connected’s smash hit ‘A Feeling’  2 weeks ago. Remix came from Mr. Fonzerelli. Now there is a new remix coming from the guys from 7th Heaven I like a lot too - which one is better? You can decide yourself, listen to both mixes: it’s Happy Hour again - 2 from 1!
Happy to have a fresh Moto Blanco mix in the show, ‘If This Is Love’ by The Saturdays is already on No.1 at the DMC Mainstream Charts this week, right before the new Madonna release (we will have next week by the way…)!
Many more great new songs are on air this weekend - enjoy the party!

Weekend Warm Up 4th/5th Of July

Hello Party People!

What a great week - so many excellent new tracks in one show, hard to choose a favourite…
The echo of ‘So Many Times’ can still be heard in our memories. Gadjo provoked many smiles with this megahit that rocked dance floors around the world. Now after a long rest Gadjo strikes again with ‘It`s Alright’, another tune that will reach the top of the charts just like his previous hit. He has created another perfect production using another catchy tune that just won’t go away. The best remix is coming from Italy’s Alex Gaudino - this is my favourite this week!
The next new track is coming from Denmark, Beatchuggers alias Mike Polo alias Michael Linde had his first hit with a rework of Eric Clapton’s ‘Forever Man’ which became one of the hottest dance hits in the world in 2000. His latest release with a couple of remixes and stunning vocals by Tara McDonald is called ‘Naked’. Great job!
In 2001 Crystal Waters released a song called ‘Enough’. Still like this track and it is time to have it in the show, but I could not decide which remix to choose. That’s why I made some kind of a Happy Hour out of it, 1 artist, one song, 2 remixes - 2 from 1!  :-) Hope you’ll like it, let me know and you will get more tracks mixed like this…
Party time now, enjoy!
The Tracklist
1. Love To Infinity Ft. Kelly Llorenna - You Gotta Love Me (LTI Club Mix)
2. Solange - Set Me Free (Extended Mix)

Weekend Warm Up 27th/28th Of June

Hi again,

one day later as usual (because I am a year older now and I had to watch the football (soccer) quaterfinals yesterday) here is the next show for you.

We’ll have eleven great tracks and two of them are my favourites, No.1 is the first all-new Strictly Rhythm production in five years. And fittingly, main man Todd Terry just happens to be the first name producer to ever record with the label back in 1990. Even better, another two Strictly veterans in Kenny Dope and DJ Sneak are also back on the block. Completing the all-star line-up are Terry Hunter, a Chicago producer and DJ of no mean repute, and Tara McDonald, the voice of Armand Van Helden’sMy My My’ and Axwell’sFeel The Vibe’. In a time of crunching electronic grooves and ever more bleepy electro, ‘Get Down’ feels like the first sunrays of spring, an old-school vocal with the pedigree of the finest uplifting, uptempo dance music. Pete Tong has already given it two spins on his radio show and others are clambering to get a piece of the action. Todd, Kenny, Sneak, Terry and Tara: we salute you.
The other one is coming from a lose group of producers, remixers, singers, musicians songwriters called ‘Connected’ who communicate, create and produce via the web. With perfect vocals by ‘Max C’, this song moves people, it’s in the melody and the words and the Fonzerelli mix brings that interesting fusion of the electronic backing track crossing with a soulful vocal. “A Feeling” has in fact had many mix treatments through bootlegs and remixes over the past 3 years that has made it an anthem in many different arenas. So now, with the perfect rendition and killer new mixes, the summer of 2008 will be all about “A Feeling”.
Enjoy the show and your weekend!
