mixgeselle is back for the christmas edition of the Weekend Warm Up - no christmas songs, 100% uplifting house for your christmas party!

The new british Girl Group Girls Can’t Catch are currently working on their debut album and will release their second single “Echo” on 18 January 2010. Listen to the Love II Infinity remix of this song now already - my christmas present for you… ;-)

Russian DJ and producer Timofey and the 20-year-old Belgium Bartosz Brenes, one of the most promising newcoming artists, released a new wonderful song called “Hear My Call” with excellent vocals by Jerique from the Netherlands. Highly recommended!

Can’t give you much infos about my favourite track this week by Main Decision other than that I am loving the energy of this Disco House track called “Never Gonna Let You Go” - fantastic job!

Our retro this week: a cover by Alex M of Queen’s “You Don’t Fool Me“, released as a single in 1996 and a worldwide Top 20 hit.

mixgeselle is on vacation but the show must go on - we are proud to announce that the fabulous Bassmonkeys are warming up your weekend this time!

Bassmonkeys have quickly established themselves as one of the world’s most respected production & DJ teams.

Already responsible for over 40 remixes and 30 original productions, including a staggering 17 top ten club hits to date, Bassmonkeys are in constant demand from the largest club and pop record labels on the planet and have featured on numerous top selling compilations.

In a very short space of time, the boys have produced for and collaborated with some of the most respected vocalists in the game: Jocelyn Brown, Tara McDonald, Amanda Wilson, Andrea Britton, Crystal Waters, Abigail Bailey and CeCe Peniston to name but a few … the list continues to grow at a rapid pace.

Dale Askew is the front line producer for Bassmonkeys and is a naturally gifted sound engineer and studio wizard. Samuele Sartini and his “Sam Project” decided to pamper us with some new remixes of his hit “Love Shine“. Some of them are more into mainstream, others more clubby. The funky and uplifting Andy & Dave remix is a killer - my favourite this week! Additionals vocals by Dr. Feelx.

Keith Thompson hits again with his own stimulus package “The Remedy“. This driving, uplifting release from the man of “Break 4 Love” fame says, though times maybe hard around the world, we’ve got the remedy for it and it’s through musical escape and love. 50% of all sales is being donated by Keith to UNICEF during December & January. So, get some good music while helping those less fortunate!

The British “New Romantic” Pop Band Visage released their second single “Fade To Grey” in 1980 which became their biggest hit ever (making the top ten in the UK and several other countries, and reaching no.1 in Germany and Switzerland). Listen to Michael Gray’s (”The Weekend“) remix - perfection!

LISTEN AGAIN HERE!

Welcome Back Party People!

Toni Braxton returns with her first single “Yesterday”, a big ballad from one of the biggest voices of the past couple decades. Her new album “Dancing With The Stars” will be released in February 2010 on Atlantic Records. The Nu Addiction Club Mix of “Yesterday” is the showopener this weekend.

Deemah, born and raised in Russia and now based in Canada, has an impressive bio: he taught himself to play a bunch of instruments, played in a couple of rock bands and worked as a session musician in Moscow, got heavily involved in the Moscow underground scene exploring and learning the world of electronic music, produced russian pop stars on the side what ended up in a tragedy: a singer jumped out of the window during a recording session, while the tape was still rolling, killing himself… He finally moved to Canada in 2000, learned English, took interest in DJ culture and house music in particular, and got busy in the studio. Listen to the result this weekend: his song “Rebound” is my favourite this time!

“Kalimba De Luna” is a song originally released by Italian singer/songwriter/Drummer Tony Esposito in 1984 and was also covered by Boney M in the same year with some chart success in Germany. A house rework is now available from Slin Project - the Retro Track this week.

Carol Hahn’s “Into The Night” was originally released in ‘83 and it did pretty well on the charts. She had quite a few requests to redo it so she re-recorded all the vocals and added a few new vocal parts to it and got it remixed. My favourite mix is coming from Jamie Exley and Peter Hayward aka VisionX.

And there is much more: two brilliant new tracks from Italy by Donati & Amato (with another piano driven remix by Hernandez Vs. DJ Tyo) or Davide Loi, Fragma’s new single, some Disco House releases I know many of you will enjoy… A perfect start into a new weekend! Enjoy!
