Partytime 3rd/4th Of July

Hello again,

“Dancin’ on the floor, Dancin’ on the table, Dancin’ on the chair, Dancin’ everywhere…” - time to party again and the right showopener for the coming weekend is Ali Payami’sDancin‘” - uplifting house as we all like it!

One of the best songs I heard this year is “Stay” by Mauro Ferrucci aka Roy Malone (DB Boulevard, T&F vs. Moltosugo) and Tommy Vee (Moltosugo) with awesome vocals by Ce Ce Rogers who recorded “Someday” in 1987 with Marshall Jefferson, the first house song signed by a major label.

On the remix: Jerome Isma-Ae. He is based in Munich , released his first record in 1994 and and has been signed by many international labels, including Sony, East West, Warner Music, Hey Babe, Flavour Rec. Electrolux, Plastic City, Kosmo Music, Compose Rec… He is playing gigs throughout Europe, as well as in South America, Australia and New Zealand. As the owner of the label “Jee-Productions” he is producing Progressive/Tribal tracks and did a fantastic job on “Stay“. 10/10!

The retro track was originally released in 1968 by Diana Ross § The Supremes, “Love Child” became a No.1 single in the U.S. and was on #5 in the U.K.

We all love Happy Endings - two uplifting funky remixes by Samuele Sartini are closing the show: Sagi Rei’sL’amour Toujours (I’ll Fly With You)” (originally released by Gigi D’Agostino) and “Just As Long As We’re Together” by Memo Solinas are proving that he belongs to Italy’s finest!

Weekend Warm Up Show 19th/20th Of June

Hey Weekenders,

we are kicking off the weekend Hed Kandi style - uplifting and happy - with Disco International and the latest Shena release “My Fantasy“, remixed again by the specialists for great funky uplifting sound, the 7th Heaven team.

Double Exposure, an American disco band from Philadelphia, USA released the first commercially available 12-inch single in 1976. Their album “Ten Percent” became one of the most successful Philly disco albums ever. The title track “Ten Percent” got the remix treatment by Jonnie Polyester and K Boy and is the retro track this weekend.

My favourite this week was a last minute add to the show, it is the latest offering from the immensely talented Frode Nilsen aka FKN from Norway. “Unreal To Me” is coming with an incredibly catchy hook, combined with huge driving uplifting emotion and stunning chord progressions. On remix duty: Andy Bury who joins forces with Corderoy. They created a mixture of house and trance (the promotion company called it ‘trouse’…) Full of energy and drive this will bring a immediate smile to every face! 10/10!

Showtime 12th/13th Of June

Hello again,

Get The Party Started” - this could be the motto of the show and is also one of the biggest hits Pink had, in 2001 the song went top five in the U.S. and on #1 in Australia. Listen to the remake by one of the most successful german dance groups, the Royal Gigolos (”California Dreaming“) with a new remix by U.K.’s Fish & Chips!

We will enjoy another remake, show opener is the retro track this week: KC and The Sunshine Band had their last U.S. No.1 in 1979 with “Please Don’t Go“. In the 90’s Double You, a italian Eurodance project, had a Top 10 hit in Europe with their version of the song and 17 years later DJ Ross added some fresh beats, took the same vocalist and released a 2009 version. Enjoy!

The Starjackers aka Andy Bury and Dom Farrington had a big hit in 2008 with “Givin All My Love“. Now they are back in fine style with their first release for 2009, “New Season” - featuring the catchy vocals courtesy of Nadia K. - has everything a track needs to become the Summer anthem of 2009! My track of the week!

Another highlight is the new Haji & Emanuel song “In The Moment” with the awesome Roachford on vocals, fantastic as always! Watch him working on a new song he made for a future album - hope he will release this soon…

Last but not least let me mention the brand new StereoJackers remix of the Bassmonkeys Ft. Abigail Bailey - “In The Moment” will be the first release from the brand new Discopolis Recordings coming at the end of July. Full mixgeselle support!

Showtime 29th/30th Of May

Hello Party People,

it’s weekend again and we will kick it off with Christopher Ruben Studdard, an American pop, R&B, and gospel singer. He rose to fame as winner of the second season of American Idol and received a Grammy Award nomination in December 2003 for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for “Superstar“. His latest huge RnB Soul hit “Together” got a nice house rework by Mike Rizzo.

My favourite this week by Loverblush is an uplifting disco house track, already released in Turkey, Poland and Russia and hopefully available everywhere soon! Loverblush is a project/band formed in 2007 by Mark Wagner, songwriter/producer from Liège in Belgium and Yasmin James, songwriter/singer from London who has worked with huge stars as Zapp Band, Evelyn Champaign King and Cool Notes.

You want more disco? The Retro Track samples a 70’s classic by the Gibson Brothers. With latin percussions and disco beats they made it into the Top Ten in the U.S. in 1979.

There’s always room for one more… The electro house remake of James Morrison’s and Nelly Furtado’sBroken Strings” is the last song this week and I am sure this mix will make you want to go out and shake your booty… Enjoy!
